The Drive Bengeo had their second get together of 2012 on Friday 14 December.
For the younger residents there was an afternoon ‘tea’ party with crafts, biscuit decorating, disco and face painting. Of course it wouldn’t have been complete without a visit from Santa to hand out presents and take those last minute present requests.
Later that evening the rest of the residents gathered in the church hall on Duncombe Road for mulled wine, mince pies and magic supplied by Kevin Flannery.
There were reminders of the Jubilee street party with photos and souvenirs on display.
A presentation of £200 was made to the Isabel Hospice being funds left over from the street party, proceeds raised from the sale of ‘The History of the Drive’ by Marilyn Taylor, and the sale of copies of the street party DVD.
A lovely festive evening was had by everyone and there are already requests for another event to be organised in the new year.
