The Lys Hill Gardeners thought they might need warming up for a full street party so had drinks at the end of the cul-de-sac on Thursday and the real thing on the Sunday of the long weekend.
Ably organised by Jenny Foster and sponsored by the MRA the wet/dry run took place on Nick and Jane’s drive in lovely weather. The weekend itself was rather changeable but by mid-morning cars had gone from the end of the cul-de-sac and at midday tables, chairs and gazebos appeared.
Neighbours provided a brilliant set of toys for children to play with on the grass. Everybody chipped in with food and drink and the rain just about stayed away. A good time was had by all and we agreed that we must do it again.
