In 2017 the footpath which runs by the Oak Tree across Bengeo Field to Chapmore End, was made an Asset of Community Value.
The time has come for this to be renewed and as a part of this process it is important for Love Bengeo Field to gather information about its use. If you want to help preserve the field for future generations you can take a few minutes to complete a simple survey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ZCZ9TWP?fbclid=IwAR3prrtvQmFbaEOvtPr67ePPmGo-1ZxhpNzC7MU-iT3FHBQHpYx3DA_3TJI.
While Stop Bengeo Quarry were fighting the quarry a survey was taken by residents showing that hundreds of people use this land for recreation and value the attractive landscape. It was argued that if anything happened to this area, the quality of life for local communities and future generations would be compromised.
An Asset of Community Value is land or property which is listed as a value to the community, and allows a community group time to prepare a bid should it come up for sale.
