The district council’s Development Management Committee will be meeting on March 4th to decide on the proposed development at Bengeo Nursery for 44 houses and 8 flats.
The Highway Authority is not opposed to the development, but wish to include certain conditions including provisions for pedestrians, cyclists and construction. The response of the Highway Authority can be found here. Any comments on the Highways response should be made to the planning case officer at East Herts District Council.
In addition Durkan, the construction and development company who bought the Bengeo Nursery, have been in touch. They are starting to gear up the construction team in the hope of a positive decision by the committee which will be meeting on March 4th.
They have letting us know details for their customer service team and site manager so that any questions or queries can be dealt with quickly.
Durkan will be talking with the school soon to inform them of their hours of operation and delivery times so that they can mitigate any conflict with school drop off and pick up.
Durkan will also be looking to dismantle the glasshouse in the next couple of weeks so that it can reused and erected elsewhere.
The proposed development is for 44 houses and 8 flats on the old Bengeo Nursery land. The site was earmarked by the District Plan for the construction of 150 homes in order to meet housing demand up to 2031.
